Subject: Installation of ZoneAlarm v2.6.88 Leaves VSDATA95.vxd in my Temp folder; Why?
Greetings,Earlier today, I installed ZoneAlarm v2.6.88 for the first time on my Windows 98SE-based computer. I noticed that after rebooting, a file named VSDATA95.vxd remained in the Temp folder. When I looked at its properties, it showed the following:
Size: 95.6 KB (97,943 bytes)
Modified Date: Wednesday, April 25, 2001 at 1:59:02 PM
File Version: 2.6.88
Description: Internet Access MonitorSo, my question is: Why wasn't this file automatically deleted after the installation and reboot? Is there some purpose or reason as to why it remained?
I have another Windows 98SE-based computer which has ZoneAlarm v2.1.44 installed on it (since October 2000). As I recall, after installing it and rebooting, NO ZoneAlarm-related files were left over in my Temp folder.
BTW, as far as performance is concerned, I must say that ZA v2.6.88 works as smoothly as the ZA v2.1.44 that is installed on my other system (both on a dial-up modem connection). Both versions passed with flying colors a number of reliable online port scanning tests (including GRC.com's ShieldsUp! & Port Probe, HackerWhacker.com, Sdesign.com,and Scan.SygateTech.com)
Thanks for your reply to my concern.

i beleive the program just failed to delete that file after it installed.
Do a search/find for vsdata95.vxd. it should be in "C\windows\system. if so just delete the temp file.
