Hi All,
I would like to know if there is anyway to compress and extract a file using dos, while keeping the structure of the subfolder in tact. I have at my disposal pkzip but i cant seem to get it right. Any ideas.
Janice

This looks like a newer version than the 2.04 you're probably using:

Give it a try.

If you're using Win2K, why are you using a DOS-based program? (7-zip/Winzip/Peazip would work better and not risk corrupting the filenames due to 8-3 naming)

If you're using Win2K, then the W95/98 forum is not the best choice for this post.
some other bloke...

I use PKZIP here on occasion. It grabs everything in the file when asked to use the -RP format.
Then I use common old WinZip and months later on I can then extract just the files that are needed. If they can not find original path or drive, then it will write one up. And it is then in a location not often thought of.
Wm.
