I have recenlty run NAV and have found that my computer is infected with many viruses including wupdater.exe. I have been trying to remove many of the problems with not much luck. After reading someone elses message I ran hijack this but now I have no idea what to do... is there anyone out there who can help me? Thanks!

As far as wupdater--
I did an over-the-top reinstallation last night on a computer someone had screwed up. When I got it going again I ran spybot and deleted some spyware.
Then I noticed it was hanging on opening control panel and on shutdown. CTRL-ALT-DEL showed wupdater wasn't responding. At the time I didn't know what it was. It wasn't listed in add/remove programs so I couldn't remove it that way. Running msconfig showed it was in a folder in 'common files' in 'program files. I removed that folder, then ran regedit and went to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
and deleted the wupdater reference. After that I had no more problems with it.
The links from beansoup and raincheck probably give info on how hijack this can remove it. But I thought I'd post with my experience with it.
