It's probably Microsoft's new troublemaker. It's got something to do with auto update. I hope, that Microsoft is able to fix in the future time.

Wuauboot (windows automatic update boot) will give an error msg if it tries to check for updates while you are running something to supress pop-up advertising. Turn off your pop-up program for a day or two and let it get the update, then turn your pop-up thingy back on.

Not running a pop-thingy? Go to the control panel and double click on autoupdate and turn it off :)

"DSL vs. Dial Up"

Before there was DSL every one used
dial up, but when DSL came out most people
started to use it and left the people who
could only use dial up in the cold.
This is a problem because most people have
DSL and can on the internet with a snap
without having to worry about being cut off
or getting on. Even worse is that the people
with dial up can not get on the internet at
all when it is busy. Is this because so
many people on the internet that have DSL and
and the ones that have dial up can't get on because the people that have the big guys won't let little guys on and since they are bigger and faster they
can just kick the little guys off? If this
is true it's not fair. It's like the big guys are picking on the little guys.
What could be done? Would the only solution
would be to get DSL. Though I can't get DSL for two reasons. One, I live 8 miles from the nearest town and can not get service.
Two, I agree to use dial up with Compuserve
for 3 years because I have recieved a $400 rebate . That was just to get costumers because no one uses it any more but it is very cheap for $20 per month compared to DSL which is around $50 per month. Though when it is very busy it can be very fustrating to get on the internet and it is just not worth paying $20 per month. Infact it should be less than that. With dial up it is limited to a number of programs it can perform on the internet. For example, you can not play movies, games, and down loud certian material. In to addition, dial up is more vunrable to spam, and worse spam can cause my PC to loose it's connection or freeze up because the dial up trying to loud the web and when a pop up add is trying to get through it has to loud that to. In other words it can't loud two or three things at a time. This proves that dial up is not useable
anymore and should cost more less.
If you live in town or have a sattillite dish get DSL and when you go in to town to buy a new computer don't let sales man talk you in to a big rebate if you use dial up. It is not worth it. Because you have to stick with for a couple of years and it is not free. That is the lesson I have learned and I should give the money back and try a different service with DSL.
