- i disabled wscript.exe function by downloading files from symantic.
- wscript background process duplicate itself endlessly on my win98; when i typed ctrl-alt-del..there is lists of over 20 wscript running.
WHAT HAPPEN NOW
wscript program getting strange again: it runs on my win98 as before...but this time i use the same program from symantic to disable it...not working....after a few attempts to stop wscript duplicating itself and run on background,
certain exe files, which is linked onto desktop with an icon shown, DISAPPEARED
among them are: mnism.exe (for outlook express)
fpexpress.exe (for frontpage express)
paintbrush
photoshop
illustrator
pagemakerWHAT HAPPEN NOW
I tried to reinstall my win98 all over..but immediately when I turn on computer after that, window98 halt and display only the window full screen logo, and stop proceeding.
I then tried to use DOS prompt to extract file to overwrite my wininit.exe and winfile.exe..but it failed.
(I used CDROM to boot up my PC )
error message: write protect on a:\
a:\ currently set as ramdriveI have no idea how to fix it, so look for help.

"I'm probably wrong" but I know there is a Wscript virus kicking around. But even if you have caught it I don't know what to suggest now you can't get back to Windows (unless there is a DOS fix).

...but if I should happen to be right, which I now think looks less likely, the URL for the fix is:
