a pointer towards a good free download to check my system for worms or trojans. Pretty sure something is lurking as getting too many freeze and lock ups. Have run AVG, Housecall but found nothing so far. Many thanks and Happy Christmas.

Again Lockdown wouldn't connect. Trojan Hunter loaded but came up with and incorrect address error so can't run it even though it's sitting in the tray. Click icon to run, dialogue box then shows but clicking "OK" just closes back to the tray.

Can report the system looks to be running smoothly again. Have removed all the printer settings and uninstalled all. Same with Scriptsentry. Have also removed all media players as that's where the freeze's were showing up. So all looks to be well......but you never know do you? Could start playing up again tomorrow. Many thanks. PS, what's the best all round player? Had winmedia version 9 but suspect that too was somewhere on the lock up culprit list. Will Realplayer cover most applications?

WinAmp 2.8 Can be found from the top of the page. I have tried quite a few and always come back to it. I personally prefer version 2.8 over the newer version 3.
Of course only Real Player will be the only player that can play .rma (Real Media Audio).
