Worried about deleting Smartdrv.exe

I deleted smartdrv.exe as a possible fix to a previous I/O subsystem error. It worked, but now I have discovered (by reading more here) that I could have simply renamed it! Is deleting this a big deal? My system does seem a little slower. Is there a way I could get it back or do I even need to?

It Doesn't matter. you can extract it from your CD again. type extract /? in the windows cd. And your system slow could be a lot of other reasons. NOt this one. but don't extract it unless your system gives an error message that it's missing or so.
