Try start - control panel -add/remove programs - click the windows set-up tab. Double-click accessories and look at the last item on the list (Wordpad). If there is no check mark next to it, check it. If it is checked, uncheck it, close all the windows and repeat.

"close all the windows and repeat" Aren't they the instructions for shampooing your hair? j/k
You will need your Win98 CD when using the procedure above.
Else go to www.surecool.com and at the bottom of the left hand column of their downloads page you will find V.5 which is the same as the version I have on my Win98 machine of WordPad.
Sure would like to know how it came to be that you somehow deleted Wordpad just like about 200 other people that have posted on this board and do not know how they deleted it.
(I'd be thinking virus)
