Wordpad: default font & file type

Times New Roman is the default font for Wordpad, and Word is the default file type. I hope against hope: can either of these be changed? I don't see how, but if anyone knows... Thank you.

I don't think you can change it in WordPad, but in Word you can. Go to Tools, Options, View and all the way at the bottom, change the font size and style.

A while back, I had asked the same question. Derek provided a link which tells how to change font info, save it as a template, then alter your Wordpad shortcut to open the template instead of just opening Wordpad. Here's the link:
