word conversion from word 7 ( office 95 ) to word 97

this is strange, but our word 97 apps will not import word 7 ( office 95 ) documents. it will import word 6 docs as well as the other formats like text, works, etc ... but not word 7. ( go figure ) are we doing something wrong or is there something else that we have to do. there is even a wrd97cnv utility that will allow word 97 docs to be viewed by word 7 machines, but as far as we can tell it will not import/convert word 7 documents. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks ...

That is veruy strange because Word 95 and Word 6 are the same file structure (to Word 97 they are the same file) Try re-installing Office, or at least the Word componant

Summary: Supercalc files can be saved as Lotus 123 version 2.X files which convert very well to Excel 97. The macros have to be rewritten in VBA. I have done may conversions from Quattro Pro and Lotus to Excel...
