Comment:

I downloaded a shareware Mahjong game and didn't like it, so I uninstalled it. Unfortunately, it took something else with it and now my computer won't recognize .avi files. I have managed to associate "Video Clips" with Mediaplayer, so I can double click on an .avi file and it will play in Mediaplayer, but any other program that I try to use with .avi files will not open them. For instance, when starting up "Age of Empires" I get an error message when it tries to play the opening videos. Any ideas on what might be missing?

Also, previous to this when I right clicked on an .avi file and selected properties, the dialogue box had three tabs: General, Detail, and Preview. Now there is only the General tab. I did a search and I still have the avifile.dll. I tried reinstalling Windows 98SE but got an error message saying my video adaptor was not properly configured and it reverted to the backup it had created at the beginning of the installation.

TIA
Bob
