I am running Win98 on a KT133TX board. When I turn on the computer the Cpu fan is working and also the other case fan too. I can also get my cd-rom to open. So I know there is power. I do not hear my hard drive spinning or my see my floppy light go on when I have a floppy disk in there. I've taken out all the PCI card and even diconnect the cables and I still don't get a post.
I've swap hard drives and video cards too.... Any solutions?

try temporary switch of cdrom and hard drive data and power cables. Also, check in bios if the hard drive is detected.

read your motherboard manual
there is a reset for the cmos on the mb

pull the powercord and move that (reset) in position
and have it there for about 6sec

then try to restart your computor

when doing so hold down the delete key

that will hopefully get you to the Bios screen there look at your processor settings

make sure that they are correct
if not change to the correct values

"if they are" then u could try to turn down
the setting ,, example
u have a p3 500 that u run at 100Mhz

then choose the option 500/66

then press F10 and c what happens

if the computor starts then i would
think that there is a problem with
your memory ..

then get Doc memory tester at
http://www.simmtester.com/PAGE/products/doc/docinfo.asp

and run that

( it will take wery long time )
and u dont want to c errors of any sort
in the report

good luck

If you have pulled all the cards and disconnected all the drives and don't get a POST beep, your motherboard or CPU is probably defective. But just in case, reseat the power connector to the motherboard and also the CPU.
