just getting into looking at wireless routers. at my place, I have 2 computers in the basement in one room, and 2 other computers in another room elsewhere in the house. currently using a phoneline adapter system. I want to be able to access internet and shared files/folders and the printer attached to one of the pcs in the basement.
looked at Linksys BEFW11S4 and 4 WMP11 adapter cards, costly option here in Canada. noticed the WAP11 as well, not sure how it fits into the picture, does it connect to a router port and then convert the connection into a wireless one?
are there routers availabe which can use network cable from the router to the computers in the basement room and then use wireless for access to the other computers elsewhere in the house?
when I try to post this in the network forum, it tells me I cannot post duplicate messages and does not post it for me?? will post there whenever I can get it to work. Al
