Ok, I'm trying to hook my xbox up to my computer, and I am having a few problems. I will explain my network first. I have ADSL that comes into the modem. The modem connects to my Linksys Wireless G with Speedbooster router. I connect my Windows XP directly up to the router via an ethernet cord. My router is configured and i can accsess the internet on my windows XP. I then wanted to connect my Windows 98SE computer to the internet, so I installed a Wireless Linksys PCI card with Speedbooster, configured it, and I can acsees the internet now on this computer. What i need to do is hook my xbox via an ethernet crossover cable to the ethernet jack on the Windows 98SE which is connected to the computer that is wireless. I need to run ICS, but when i run ICS and share my internet connection on the Linksys wireless adapter, the adapter says that my computer needs a static IP. So i went in and choose an IP manually for my comptuer, entered in the DNS servers, the gateway, and now i want to try and run ICS again. Does this sound like ICS will work? Is there anyother way to get my xbox online via connection to the wireless computer?
THank you very much for reading this.

I followed what you were asking up until this part :
'What i need to do is hook my xbox via an ethernet crossover cable to the ethernet jack on the Windows 98SE which is connected to the computer that is wireless'You might want to define what your attemping to do with all of this.
First of all running two network devices on Win98 is not the best configuration at any time. It can be done, but its not problem free at all. You will need bridging software to allow the wireless card to see the PCI card. This eats up RAM and resources usually.
You stated your using a WRT54GS to access the internet. Plug the Xbox into a port on it, with a STD RJ-45 cable and do the Xbox setup screen. My knowledge of Xbox's is somewhat limited, but I don't think they require a crossover cable unless they are hooking up to another Xbox.
The Win98SE puter should see the Xbox on the network (that his what you got going on with the router). The XP box should see both of them if you have the IP addys setup properly. They all should see the intenet as well.
When all is said and done, you do not need ICS running at all.
