Wireless Card in, no POST

I have a system that runs fine, I put a new linksys wireless card in and it dose not even get to the POST. I pull he card out and the system runs fine!

I have tried the LinkSys card in my XP system and it works fine.
What could it be

Likely wireless card isn't compatible with Windows 98, as per above post.

It may also not be compatible with the Win 98 laptop, if it's a newer card and an older laptop.
