I am using Microsoft Office 97 with Windows 98 and have had few problems until recently. Now, when I attempt to open a file in MICROSOFT WORD, I receive the following error message:

I have had this same problem but only when trying to use the web authoring tools in MS word. Have you gotten anywhere with this problem yet?

Just wondering if you have figured this one out. Have tried to uninstall word and reinstall to no avail. Problem occurs whenever a document is closed. Very aggrevating.

Having the same problem and cannot save changes to Word documents. Have reloaded Office 97, Windows (after removing both from the system), and have removed any/all viruses from the system. Nothing works. There is a fix for VBA232.dll but not VBA332.dll that I can find. Help!!!!

I have been receiving a similar INVALID PAGE FAULT error (VBA332.DLL) while in Excel. It only happens when I use the Control key to Cut, Paste, Find, Replace. Ctrl-H seems to be the most consistent. It will work one time then the second time it crashes. You can perform the same functions with the mouse via the menu bar all day long with no problem. Any suggestions?

Oh! I got the same problem recently. I encounter this error everytime when I open Winword. I have tried to remove and reinstall Office97 but in vain. As the error message states that there is a page fault in 'VBA332.DLL' but actually I cannot find this file in any folder of my PC. Instead, I can only find another file called 'VBAR332.DLL' in directory 'C:\windows\system\'.
Could anybody help us to solve the problem ? Is it a peculiar problem in Win98?
Very frustrated ! }:-(

One of my clients experienced a similar problem in Windows 95 and part of the error message is shown below.
"WINWORD caused an invalid page fault in
module VBA332.DLL at 0157:651a351d..."This problem seemed to begin when this client opened a MS Word attachment from and outside source. Once the problem had been encountered, MS Word would not start. Even after the error message had been closed, winword would still show up as an open process in the task list.
I had to remove MS Office 97 and then installed MS Office 97, SR-1. SR-1 wasn't installed earlier. MS Word 97 worked fine after that.
As this occurred in Windows 95, I assume that it is only MS Office related.

I had a similar problem for WINWORD when I add a software "HP OfficeJet Manager". I replaced VBA332.dll from a version dated 23/10/97 to other version dated 03/02/97 and WINWORD started work. With this older version of VBA322, MS EXCEL has problem sometime, especially when I use some latest added fuction. I have to replace the VBA322 to suit to the uses of software, fortunately I need only restart the software but not PC itself. By having many reports on the crash with VBA332.dll, I wonder the latest version of Windows or forthcoming Office 2000 has solved these problem.
I also have a crash on MS ACCESS when I try to use Wizard function. In this case, both version of VBA332 do not work.

Well! I thought I was the only one in the whole world! I´m looking for some fix that could work on Access. I´ve tried a lot of procedures but it seems that nothing can help.
If someone finds any kind of solution, please let me know.
Thanks on advance!!!

we are having the same problem ourselves, and our boss doesnt have a clue on how to fix it,mind you he doesnt have a clue about much

I wonder, can this problem be caused by a macro virus coming with WinWord documents?
If we look at dates for all of this messages on this list, the oldest one is from Feb. 99.
Is it possible that some Hacker recently has created a virus that causes this problem?

Note that after cleaning two machines infested with two Word macro viruses (Ethan.A and W97) the page fault in module vba332.dll messge began. Even after reload of Off97 and SR2 update the problem persists. My next try will be replacing the normal.dot template and the vba332.dll file itself from a "functioning" client machine.

Have replaced normal.dot from a pc that has not been infected with ETHAN W/M virus and problem fixed (W95 + W98)

I have had the same problems in Excel ! At the point where I'm ready to strangle Microsoft. Their technical support said I could just copy out the macros into a new worksheet and start over again ! Totally useless when you have created a lot of forms, and graphical elements though !
But alas, I found a solution that worked for me. I found the solution from another tech posting.
The cause was described as follows:
=========
This problem may occur in the above products if you have been modifying the software and have performed Copy and/or Save As operations on objects which contain code and have then closed down the software package without recompiling.=============
So to test out this solution, I opened my Excel file with macros disabled. I opened the VB Editor, and under Debug menu, selected "Compile VBA Project". Then I saved my file and closed Excel. I re-opened my file, with macros enabled, and mercifully the problem has gone away !

Delete the NORMAL.DOT template. We've had it on a few machines, and this cures it for us. Suspect it was caused by a virus, long-since removed.

Ive found that the problem w/"vba332.dll being out of date "began after downloading and installing office 97 sr1,srch &sr2 all of which appeared to fail even though pronounced successfull originally, and it caused textbridge pro 9 to get trashed too, so I uninstalled, installed back and forth, even got a program from microsoft called regclean.exe, all to no avail. Then i got office 2000 and even though it didn't update the dll to version 3.0.0.7019 from version 3.0.0.6whatever, it did appear to allow office app's to run unimpeded, and a fresh install of Pagis/Textbridge shows no issues and finally allows me to install a " send to textbridge command on the file menu in Word.
If u find the same vba332.dll out of date error, the upgraded dll can be found according to the microjunk "knowledge base", only in three things, access 97 sr1;exchange server 5.0;or project 98. WOULD SOMEBODY POST VERSION 3.0.0.7019 OF THIS THING ON THE WEB SOMEFREAKING WHERE??? FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST I SAY !PLEASE WHIMPER PLEASE.

Client uses the same excell macro (with some modifications due to conntent) of seven different Excel spreadsheets, page fault occurs randomly in two of them when the macro is executed. It also occurs on two different computers both runing Excel 97, one with SP1.
The problem is driving me crazy!

Relieved to know the "page fault in VBA332.DLL" is a "Microrubbish" (as one contributer put it) problem and not my VBA programming. I am running on Excel ver8 (97) SP-2. A couple of questions - What does VBA332.DLL do? From some of the replies on this page it seems copying and pasting may be contributing to the error. Can I re-write macros to work around problem areas, if I knew what the problem areas were? Has anyone had this problem with Excel 9 (2000)?
TIA

I renamed Normal.dot ("Old.dot") opened Word, opened Old.dot, exported modules from Old to Normal, and everything is hunky-dory.
All this after having removed/reinstalled Office, replacing vba332.dll, all to no avail. I can't be sure, but I believe this started after a failed install of SR2b.

Has anyone found a solution? Please let me know. Mine began when we opened a file that contained macros, ever since, it's been totally aggrevating. Can't delete or open certain files that are infected. Please help!
