winword 97 invalid page fault

Can anyone help? Is anyone out there?
I recently installed Word 97. While working on documents, winword will freeze up and give me the following message. "winword caused an invalid page fault in module WINWORD.exe at 015f:30080a25
then it provides the registers and stak dump.
It can happen at random times or it can occur every 2 to 3 minutes. And the bad part is it won't auto recover document. Before I smash the install disk into a 1000 pieces and mail it back to Gates can anyone solve the mystery?

whenever I am cutting/ pasting/ deleting from a document , the error message comes- winword has caused invalid page fault in module MS097.DLL at 0177:30733613. the programe freezes and has to be closed without saving the work causing significant irritation. if you know how to sort it out, tell me..

as far as the cut and paste thing causeing this problem try this

Word 97 and Exceed 6.0.1 Invalid page fault in either WINWORD.exe or MS097.DLL with Xselection options, Auto Copy X Selection and Auto Paste To X Selection, being on.
If these options are on, Word 97 crashes with an invalid page fault while attempting a cut.
