Can anyone please tell me what winstart is? I downloaded and installed a theme this morning and then my firewall was asking if I wanted to allow this program access. I looked in my system file and there is was, newly installed, as of a few minutes before. It sounds important but I never had it before and things ran OK. I have removed it into the recycle bin but not totally deleted it from there yet until I'm sure things are OK. Thanks for any help offered.

Winstart001.exe IGetNet is a plug-in search addition to your IE Browser that will redirect your searching to customers of IGetNet. May disable other browser plug-ins.

Hi Maureen, If you just deleted the Winstart001.exe file, it is liable to be reinstalled the next time you connect to the net.
In some cases IGetNet is installed by another parasite named FavoriteMan and both need to be removed.
To make sure all the components are removed, download, update and run Spybot-S&D.
