i'm missing MSWINSCK.OCX too! i assume it's the same file1?! i have the thing now, but it wont register gives me the LoadLibrary - Error 00000x0001f or some such thing... i think my problem began when i tried to run the gigasampler the other night...

whenever i try this on windows NT4, I get the following message :
The application or DLL c:\winnt35\system\mswinsck.ocx is not a valid windows nt image. Please check this against your installation diskette?

ok, read and LEARN,
to register mswinsck.ocx is Response 2 principally ok. But try this :
open a DOS - Prompt (you know, START -> Programms etc. , change Die to C:\Windows\System and type what you read in Response 2. Before you must copy mswinsck.ocx into this Directory ....

I'm working with MSWINSCK.OCX v2.0, I have a problem. When I close the connection with the server I can not reconnect it inmediatly, I have to wait for at least five minutes, and I think this time is unnaceptable.
Is there someone who knows how to solve it?, I would like to know if there is some event propertie to reestablish or reopen the connection with the server. I'm using Windows NT workstation 4.0 as operating system.

The problem I am having is this:

Sounds like your file is out of date!You might try renaming it and downloading a newer version.Anysearch will link you to it, I used dogile and went right to it.If you have any problems getting it email me and I will send you a copy of mine.

alright, it seems I am no different than these people. I tried registering it. I tried downloading it and replacing it and then registering it. I still get that library error. GGGGrrrrr. *vein popping in fyx's forehead* What am I not doing or screwing up? I think one problem is that my comp is identifying the thing incorrectly... so it shows it as a document. HELP.

i register and stuff that all works and i restart and when i try to use a program that uses MSWINSCK.OCX it still come up with sum error saying it might be out of date..i have the F**king latest one out ... and i've try with 6 files and 5 different programs still say the say thing..

This ActiveX control library is more a pain then a handy development tool. To locate it is one problem, then once you find it you have registration problems and license problems. I myself had experienced some problems licensing it on my machine. I currently run Visual Studio 6.0 and although Microsoft says that mswinsck.ocx and/or winsck.ocx is part of this distribution and have a valid license key for it, it is not true. I am currrently working on building my own socket control and should have it sometime soon. For all you people who do not know how to register it, type REGSVR32 control.ocx at the command shell. I found the Holy Graal,I mean this bloody winsck file (or at least something that looks like it),but don't know what to do with it.Do I have to transfer the file to an appropriate place on my computer?Since I'm not used to these disgusting DOS commands,would it be possible to have a clear(CLEAR) how-to? None of that works. I have installed. I have done the regsvr32 i/ winsck.ocx, and without the i/. It appears everyone else is getting the same Library error. So far there has been no answer to this.

Merely installing the file on the drive will NOT register it. I have a program that installs a right-click context entry that permits the registering/unregistering of certain files like these, and .dlls. The name of the file is RegisterEx, and is from Moon Software at:

Perhaps a better alternative would be to download and install ActiveX, which will install this file and several others that you may need in the future, and also register them. Get it at:samarac.hfactorx.org/Filez/activex602.zip
This is a 6.23 meg. file.

It seens that EVERYONE is having trouble finding this notorious file winsck.ocx, now I'm sure you all have said the same things as me, but I too need to register this trouble making file, and none of the above work, perhaps its an old version, but perhaps you know where the newest version is!? You're not gonna want to hear this, but I have also had problems with this file (winsck.ocx) but the problem is a different one to the rest of you.
"You do not have an appropriate licence to view this functionality" is the message I get.
Okay, I admit the program I am using that gives the message (if it isn't the winsck.ocx file) isn't that great and trustworthy a program, but still I want to get it working.
Also, there are many sites providing the "winsck.ocx" file, and most of them are trojans, so be careful what you download and check them for virii if you can!

FINALLY, THE ANSWER:
After about an hour of playing around with this annoying OCX and the problems, this combination finally worked:
Download the OCX from here [as stated above]:
http://www.home.zonnet.nl/bitmaster/comp/mswinsck.zipand register it with RegisterEx shell extention installed:
http://www.moonsoftware.comthis DOES work, and the url's are not dead, as many of the ones above are.

Ok, i have found out how to get rid of the licensed error that so many of you have encountered. You simply go to http://msdn.microsoft.com/vbasic/downloads/updates.asp Then you download the vbc.exe and it will fix the problem. It turns out the licensing error was just a bug

Similar to what others have encountered with the activeX control known as Winsck.ocx , I receive an error complaining about missing "license information" while using winsck.ocx in design time in Visual Basic 6.0 Learner edition, which is not supported by the patch at Microsoft.com. Is there any way to obtain the license for this control?
