Every time I reboot PC before I can open any programs (get error not enought memory) I have to Control/Alt/delete to End Task on multiple WINRAR programs. Last time had WINRAR 90 times under "Task Manager" "Applications". How do I keep this from occuring any longer. I did a search of HD and deleted WINRAR folder but that didnt help

Run msconfig and click the startup tab. Is winrar loading there?

Winrar is a file compression utility but there appears to be a trojan using a similarly named file:

WINRAR.EXE

The legitimate winrar normally installs in the program files folder. I'm working on a computer right now that has winrar.exe in the windows folder but nothing in program files. This computer was having similar problem as yours. It loaded dozens of processes until the memory ran out. But they were loading from 2 files in the windows folder, DS9Z4BC87V.exe AND INEBIJTL64.exe. A google search on these files turned up nothing. I think they're randomly named files designed to propagate the virus process.

Startup in msconfig had all the processes listed. I deleted the 2 files in the windows folder and edited the registry to remove the listings and everything seems OK now.

I wasn't sure winrar was related to the problem but since you're having similar problems I think I'll at least uncheck it in msconfig.

The line in startup in msconfig loading winrar was:

%SystemRoot%\winrar.exe aimboot
