I cannot get into control panel or any other W95 system part. Cannot start up IE or any program that I currently installed. Everytime I go to start a program I get a "program caused a page fault in WININET.DLL". I've reinstalled W95, nothing; copied a new wininet.dll file off the W95 cd, the MS TechNet cd, off a website, all still nothing. after two months, finaly getting a bit upset. can anyone help? =o(

The WININET.DLL error is because active desktop for IE 4.0 is screwed up. I assume you "over installed" rather completely reinstalled Win 95. Open IE4 choose Product Updates from the Help drop down menu. It will take you to MS where the Browser update and an update for Active desktop will be installed. The update replaces the old one and resets it to default. If you have installed IE5 you will have to uninstall it from Add/remove programs to get back to IE4. Or you could just say "to hell with it", back up your files and do the infamous FORMAT C:
