I tried to compress my c drive with the built in tool. It stoped at 25 %. After that my computer will not start. It hangs in the start up sequence. Before I did a backup of the hole c drive. I have tried to use that backup but my computer still dont start.
What shall I do ?

You should format your drive, because if drivespace stopped and you can`t start your machine, the mbr record on the drive is damaged. Then there is only one thing to do.
If you have a dos startup disk (win98).
You should use this to load your cd rom drive and get into DOS, and then "format c:\"
Insert the win98 CD and reinstall...

I just got a new computer and I am installing windows98 on it, but I have lost the windows98 start-up disk. When I try to make a new one with my old computer it says that "*.cab" is corrupt and won't make the start up disk. I don't want to reformat my old computer before my new one is fixed. So I was wondering if it is possible to download a start up disk from the internet?
Thanks
