Windows98 wont boot just prints!!

Got a telephone call off friend saying his pc wont boot(windows98) it just goes to printer and starts printing reams of system info, he cant get into safe mode or command prompt e.t.c as it starts printing straight away.have booted using boot disc and done the usual i.e sys c: still nothing.(The pc has just been returned from a shop which it was taken to for a diagnostic check)

Return it to shop and ask them to fix the bugger, unless its your friend's wrong doings. If nothing important on PC then I suggest to reinstall a clean version. Search on howtos for the best way to achieve this.

You may want to call the shop. They may have installed a program or something else to help them troubleshoot by printing out the system infromation and fogotten to remove it.
