I am currently using a compaq presario 1220 laptop. I had windows 95 on it but it was getting old so i wanted to upgrade. I formated the c: drive. im trying to install windows 98se. first i tried using my dads compaq disk recovery. it has windows 98 on it. im only running on dos. the cd boots but it doesent seem to want to install as a regular windows98 installation cd. i tried a friends copy of windows98se, it has all the required files but it does not boot for some reason. i went on some sites and all the info i got was to, create a directory then copy the files and then to type in setup afterwards. i tried them but i keep getting bad command or file name. any suggestions?

Hi Jaime.
I am sending you a speciel boot disk with CD Rom support, the program is in Zip format, simply unzip it to a 3.5 disk.
Insert the disk reboot/ then select start with CD Rom support, then at the prompt just type c:
When you get the C: Prompt, Type setup.exe
Have a nice day Jaime.

HI all
jaime when you go to the C:\ prompt you first need to type in {CD directory name} enter than setup. replace directory name to that of the directory you made and leave out the {}.
