when I turn on my computer,it starts and when it gets to the desktop menu, all of a sudden starts receiving popups with minisize explorer screen and this continues to multiply until its gets "not enough memory to run this program".This minisize will (about 200 or more ) will then freeze the computer and I have to turn it off and start allover again.I need help please as it has rendered my computer useless.

Ad-Aware will probably clean up this mess for you. If you can get it on before the computer locks up that is. You'll find a link to Ad-Aware at top of the forum under useful links. Also get Spybot Search & Destroy. They are both freeware with a huge following.
If you manage to get them on without problems, update them and run their scans. A hint, in Ad-Aware you will find a long list which all require ticking. Right click one of the entries to select all.
After that is done, boot to safe mode and run the scans there.
In order to get these programs installed you may first need to boot to safe mode and run 'msconfig' (start - run then type msconfig). On the startup tab, uncheck everything except you antivirus program's files. Reboot to normal mode and then you should be able to install.
Once it is cleaned up, remember to return to msconfig and re-enable the remaining files.

Download CWShredder (the stand alone version) and adaware SE. You'll probably need to burn the downloads to a cd.
If this just started happening within the last few days, startup the computer. Before the OS starts to load, start tapping F8. A menu should come up. Choose 'command prompt only'. At the dos prompt type scanreg/restore and enter. Choose a registry to restore with a date that precedes the problem. Then reboot normally and see if that keeps the crap from loading.
If that helps, install and run adaware and cwshredder.
If that didn't fix it to where you can load and run those programs, reboot and use F8 to get the menu and choose 'safe mode'. When you get to the desktop go to START--RUN and type in msconfig and click OK. When it opens, click 'selective startup' and uncheck 'load startup group items'. Then 'apply', 'OK' and reboot.
Let it reboot to normal mode and try loading the software again. If you can successfully run them that may take care of the problem. If you ran msconfig and disabled the startup items be sure to run it again and enable them.
Another thing to try is hijackthis. Running it will tell you everything that is loading on your computer. You can have the log analyzed at a few places. Here's one.

I can't even get to click on anything before it freezes up.Can't even log on to the internet (so downloading might not be an option).I will try all the other ideas that you guys gave and see if I am able to log on to the internet so as to download the software you guys adviced.I am at a friend's house using the computer.I will go home right now and try those procedurec. Thanks guys

You should still be able to get to the boot menu using F8. Then you can get to safe mode or to dos to run scanreg/restore.

In dos the space is space between the command and the switch is immaterial--it'll work with or without the space.
In windows the space is necessary. For example, If you run fdisk/? in dos you'll get the help list for fdisk. If you run the same command from the windows run line you'll get an error about windows being unable to locate the file. If you then run it as fdisk /? the fdisk help will appear normally.
