This morning when I turned on the computer, a error message appeared on screen when the computer was trying to start windows "himen.sys missing or corrupted". It was only onscreen for a second, and then windows continued to try to start, but it just stops after loading the cd-rom drivers (for both cd-rom). So I manually restarted the computer. This time, after the himen.sys error appeared, a second error appeared saying that windows had not fully loaded last time it tried to run and suggesting I run safe mode, which I did, mainly to make sure win would still run. Then I restarted the computer twice (to get to the screen suggesting safe mode, because the computer stops if it tries to start win on its own.) This time I stepped through windows startup, and did not load any of the cd-rom drivers. windows started that way. Then I found this forum and tried the suggestions already posted for the himen.sys error, including reinstalling windows. But, I still get the same errors, and windows won't start on its own, I have to step through startup. Can someone please help me? This is a pretty new computer (got it a week ago), and this is the first time I've had trouble with it. I can't even think of anything that might've caused this. The computer worked fine yesterday and i shut it down normally.
