Windows won't boot until I hit F1
Name: Brandon Date: October 27, 2002 at 16:17:28 Pacific OS: Windows 98 SE CPU/Ram: Pentium III / 384 mb
Comment:
When my computer is booting up it always stops near the F12 help option and makes me hit F1 to continue. How can I get it to boot up straight to Windows like it used to? (I have three high schoolers and a college student using it so who knows what happened behind the scenes that I'll never know about.)

Someone will correct me real quick if I am wrong but I think you can boot with a 98 boot disk and type in sys C: and it will transfer the system files back to your boot record.

I think that's a bios configuration message--it happens before the OS starts to load, right? If so the system files have nothing to do with it.
Check your cmos. You might want to load the setup defaults. Also enable 'reset configuration data'
