Hi....
I have been trying to install a back up drive and windows will not recognize it...
it should be given drive letter T but after installation....windows says ...new hardware found....but that is as far as i get...
looked in my computer...and it`s not there.
thought it might be a bad ide cable ...so swopped for one that i know is ok....still the same problem....any ideas please...

Hi d....
it is jumpered as slave .....
and when the pc boots up....i can see the drive on screen as primary slave...

i havejust tried connecting the ide cable that is normally on my cd writer and that makes no difference at all...
the tape drive appears on boot as primary slave ....but windows seems unable to recognize it.......
so when i load the related software for this drive....the software is acting like the drive doesn`t exist..
this is a replacement drive for one that stopped working.....
so can`t understand why this problem has occurred.....
