Hello, I have a major problem on my hands, I can not do any updates at all and I need to update my Microsoft Root Certificate for Norton to install, I open W.U. with any of there websites it just freezes about 2 seconds after it loads, wierd thing is when I go down to click *close* *right clicking* and that thing is up it loads but then it just freezes after I click on the page and can't scan or anything, also I have tried to put Windows Media Player 9 upgrade I open that and about 5 seconds it freezes when it says OPening... PLEASE HELP ME OUT ON MY SITUATION!

With the limited information I can offer the following: To use WU you need to use IE, you must turn off any pop-up stoppers and you can not use any third party download programs. HTH Bryan

I do use IE, and I don't use popup blockers when I do it.

Thanks for the links, Root Cert installed but the other webpage froze. I tried to intall norton and now it says Symantec Antivirus setup failed. :/

Try re-registering some windows update componentes. Go to: START --> RUN --> regsvr32 dispex.dll <enter> It worked for me. If WU continues to freeze, try the same above procedure with the components below: regsvr32 msscript.ocx regsvr32 vbscript.dll regsvr32 scrrun.dll Best regards from northeast Brazil, George
