Comment:

I am using a 486 60MHz with 16 megs of ram. I installed Windows 3.11 and everything was perfect then I decided to Upgrade to 95 and afterwards I get this message after windows is almost loaded:

"An internal stack overflow has caused this session to be halted. Change the STACKS setting in your CONFIG.SYS file, and try again."

I have tried "STACKS=0,0" and that causes it to reboot instead of giving the error message. I have had it running once before but I formated my HD and now I have this. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!

I tried stacks=9,256 and get the same message. I also tried STACKS=9,256 with and without Files=60 and Buffers=40 and still no progress. Any other tips guys?

Try increasing the size of each stack instead of the number of stacks such as stacks=9,512 and see what happens.

If this does not work, I would try reinstalling windows over itself.
