I've been trying to install Windows on a 2GB partition (clean). It'll give me the first blue (dos) screens, then run scandisk, then fail giving me the message "Please remove disks from floppy/removable drives and press any key to restart your system"
I never get any further than this, no matter what I do.

Have you tried hitting the reset at this point? Forcing it to reboot a couple of times may get it past that point or maybe give a new error message. 98 can be finicky on reinstalls, sometimes. Some installs are just plain spooky. Try FDISK again, reformat, again and start setup, again. Good luck. :)

I've tried all that. I've just seen the same problem posted lower....and there didn't seem to be much help there.
Unfortunately, I've had pretty good luck with installing OS's, so this is new territory for me.
