Hi, here is my friends problem. He just bought a new computer from Global. It has a damaged INI file in it, which cause windows to crash. We have tried installing First Aid deluxe, and while installing, it freezes. The only way to stop it from freezing, is running it in safe mode. Here is the message we get while windows is booting:
"A device file that is specified in the system INI file is damaged. It may be needed to run windows. You may need to run the windows setup program again. If the file is included in another software package, you may need to reinstall the software that uses the file. C;\WINDOWS\system|VMM32\NTKERN.VXD"
Thanks

Howdy, This is a simple fix. Just go to the contro panel and double click the network icon. Make sure you have your windows 9.x cd-rom handy. Remove Dial-up Adapter, TCP/IP and anything else in there. Then add them all back, insert the 9.x disc when it ask and restart the computer and your problem should go bye bye.
Laters,
Kevin The Tech Dude.
P.S First Aid sucks ass.

Or, try uninstalling USB Supplement Pack under add/remove programs.. and restart, then reinstall from win95 cd.
good luck
