lately i've been getting this problem. everytime i restart my com, when i get into windows an error message box pops up saying that there is an error in my windows regiestry. And windows would restart to repair it. The computer is fine after that. But the next time i switch on my computer, the same message appears. And it goes on and on. What can i do to stop this? any help is appreciated.
Or you could try to repair the registry yourself. Boot to DOS. At the prompt type SCANREG /fix and hit enter. This will repair the registry and compact it.

I had the same problem with a compaq computer. After I tried upgrading to 98se. Run scandisk then try shutting off all startup programs except systray and explorer. Then if the problem stops, turn each program on one by one to find which one is causing the trouble. Also I believe you can disable the registry checker on startup. It may also be caused by either bad ram, cpu,or overheating.
