Comment:

95% of the time when iturn my computer on,it begins to load windows 95 and suddenly says "windows protection error.you need to restart your computer." This always happens when i click restart in the shutdown dialog box. after restarting windows starts in safe mode. If i click shut down and turn power off and then back on, windows usually loads normally. everything else works once i am in windows. any help would be apreciated.

Try looking at

www.dmacomputers.ie/Support/FAQ/win95faq.htm

That sorted it out for us.

Often a legacy/PNP conflict. Make sure the IRQs for any legacy devices are excluded from PNP/PCI in the BIOs/CMOS

Have fun !

Lee, as I tell everyone I meet AOL is evil!!
DO NOT INSTALL THAT CRAP! In fact I used to get that same waol.exe problem myself. My only fix is to completely uninstall and delete all files dealing with this wicked cult...(I know I'm biased but for good reason!)
