Windows Protection Error

My PC gives me a "Windows Protection Error" after being on for half an hour or if I've taken the casing off it usually goes for an hour and a half. I'm sure this must be a heat-related problem. All the fans are working OK. Could it be my RAM or my CPU or what?

Do you get this error while working on the machine, booting or when it's not been used? Any particilar program your running when you get this error? does it happen all the time or just sometimes ? What kind of motherboard have you got ? running any network ? What kind of process ? any other devices, nic,isdn,modem,soundcard ? Try starting it up, then leave it alone for an hour or so, what happens ?(don't touch the mouse or keyboard!) Has this started to happen now or has it been like this for a long time? Have you made any changes to the machine latly, added software or programs? Are you running any virus programs? run a check? Running any utilies? which?
