Windows Media Player Problem

Comment:
When I try to open a file using Windows Media Player, there's no audio. I can hear sounds before I open the Player, but once I open it, none of the sounds work in any program until I reboot my computer. Anyone have any ideas?

Un-install then, re-install Media Player. Your media player is probably turning off your sound card for some reason.

Go to your control panel. Then go to Add/Remove programs. next, go to windows setup, scroll down to multimedia. Doubleclick multimedia, and then scroll down and uncheck media player then click apply or ok. This will uninstall the player. Then go back and recheck it and click apply or ok again. Have your Windows disk ready and that will reinstall it. Good luck.

All of these problems are occurring for one reason and one reason only. Windows Media Player is a piece of crap. Uninstall it and use another application for your media needs.

If you are having problems with Media Player make sure you have the latest drivers for your display adapter and sound card. Also keep in mind Media Player was developed for optimum use under Windows Millennium Edition operating system.

I prefer to use Windows media player 6.4 for video viewing and it works fine despite the problem I have. How can I can get of the "test date version has expired" error message that pops up each time I start the program.
