When loading Windows Media Player 9 I keep getting an error message appearing whilst loading. It reads: This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. SETUP_WM caused a stack fault in module MSDMO.DLL at 0167:64bb17ac. This thing is driving me mad, if any one could help I'd really appriciate it.

I'm under the impression that Media Player 9 is not written for Win 98SE and thus it will not work properly anyway.

WMP9 does work on 98 and ME, but instead of running the installation EXE you have to extract the files from the EXE using something like Winzip to a folder - then you run setup from there. Is this what you did and you still get the error??
