How do remove the Windows logon screen that appears at startup in Windows 98

Click START, FIND and enter *.PWL - rename them to another name (like: *.SAV) and reboot.

You will see the logon screen again - enter a user name, and NO Password.

The next time you boot you should not see the login screen.

There are other situations that will cause this, but this is the most common. Post back if this doesn't work.

I you look for the screen with the WINDOWS 98 logo: it is this file: strtlogo.oem
