When I start up my computer, the windows login screen does not appear, and when I go to log off, it says Log Off.... I can then click Log Off, and then I get the windows login screen, and can login with my username and password. I hate having to do this everytime I start up.. but if I don't, I cannot connect to my network. PS, it does this with either "Client for Microsoft Networks" or "Windows Login" selected in the networking options. Pleas help if you can...

Remove all network adapters in network properties and reboot. Then reinstall the adapter and clients. Hope this helps.

if Floyd's fix doesn't work, you may try doing a search for all .pwl files and delete them. Then put your password in if it comes back up

Thanx for all the advice.... the following is the only method that worked:
go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion and delete the Winlogon key. Interestingly, merely deleting everything in the key didn't help. Once the key was deleted and I rebooted, there was the login window!
