I've just reinstalled my windows 98 software. I have a HP672C printer. I downloaded the latest driver from HP and setup the printer in windows. I've tested the printer and it works OK. My problem is everytime I reboot my computer, WIndows says it has found new hardware and tries to look for the driver for this printer. I point it to the correct driver and it says its not the correct one and I finally have to cancel and finish the boot. Before I reinstalled 98, this printer worked fine on this same computer. I did not have this problem. Any ideas?

Does the printer still work? How many printers do you have showing under "Printers" in "My Computer"?
Usually after 3 or 4 "nags" about drivers for new hardware, Win98 will stop asking. Has this happened yet?

When you say "I only have one printer set up" are you referring to physical printers or printers listed ? ( Start - Settings - Printers ) More than one printer listed can cause it. If you have more than one listed delete one of them or both and start over.

I only have one physically attatched and only one in the printers folder. One thing I should add is this is a dual boot PC with W2K on the other partition. The same printer is set up for W2K and works fine there. That shouldn't make a difference but you never know.
