I am getting repeating message from windows explorer that a error has occured and it will be shut down. The computer still works but it shuts down most of the open apps. and resets the screen. should i reinstall explorer and how?

What are you doing when explorer crashes usually it isnt explorers fault sometimes its another programs fault .

What are you doing when explorer crashes usually it isnt explorers fault sometimes its another programs fault .i only know of two fixes extract explorer from the installation cabs or reinstall windows .warning it you had win95 and installed ie4 you have to get a different explorer the one that come with ie 4 is different that the one plain win95 has .

Iam running a dell laptop, just for reference. Normally I am running the basic drivers at startup, an audio driver that appears in the task bar and that is it. most often when this happens the computer is setting idle but not all the time. I have not found a pattern to this so I appologise for the vauge discription.
