I am running windows 98, 1st ed, everytime I try to access My Computer or Windows Explorer my computer locks up. According to the task mgr Explorer has stopped responding and then after a few minutes I get the blue screen that indicates the system is busy or has become unstable. This happens everytime I try to access anything that uses the Explorer browser. What can be causing this problem?

Maybe can test : Start run SFC
Will tell if system files messed up.
If that don't get it then put your Win98 CD in the drive and doubleclick setup.exe. Install to same location.
If that don't fix it then it is time for reformat.
