Windows explorer crashes on startup and I can not do anything. Have tried to reinstall windows and get the same problem. How do I fix this or do I have to erase everything and start over.
Thanks
Ronald

Dont know if Ill get back today, but others are going to need a little more info. ie, how far of loading do you get, and "how" does it crash - does it lock up, blue screen, kernel screen, windowze error box (the most seen one)? what?
What version Windoze, hard drive size, proccessor speed? How much RAM installed? All these add up in trying to decipher anything.
Theres prolly 38trillion or so ways Windoze can crash!! lol
Is it by chance an "explorer/comctl32.dll" crash right as desktop opens, but before any icons? and if so, are you running Norton Security?

crashed as windows starts loading.
The background loads but before any icons can load it comes up with the "explorer has caused a illegal operation and will be shut down". When you close it of course nothing else happens.Has plenty of HD space available
RAM 64mg
speed 500mhz
