Hi!
Here's the deal. I have a lucky star ka750 motherboard, amd k7 800 mhz processor and a Jaton made TNT2 AGP B-32 Plus video card. Originally when I got the system, it worked. One day, my HD got too messy so I decided to reformat. Alas, using my driver disks etc, I could not get windows 98se to recognize my video card. I switched video card with my roommate (3dfx voodoo3) but now he took it back cause school is about over, and I can't get my card to work. I feel like I have exhausted my options, so I chipped in for a Inno3D Geforce 2 MX w/32 Mb RAM. This video card is giving me the same troubles. I know that the card is fine b/c it is brand new, and my motherboard IS compatible at least with the jaton because I used it without incedent for several months. I have fooled around with re-installing windows, the agp to pci bridge, etc etc. I just feel really frustrated 'cause usually people come to me for help with computers, but I guess video cards are my downfall! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, right now I am wondering if upgrading my OS will help at all... Thanks!
~steve

Have you loaded the drivers for your motherboard?

Here is a link to their site:

Remove all video drivers from the computer and reboot. Do not let windows load a driver...use the cd driver that came with the video card. The drivers should be at x:\drivers\win9x on the cd.
If you have onboard video make sure it is turned off in the bios or jumper...check the motherboard manual.

hmm... I have an IRQ conflict between my ESS-1 SOLO Audiodrive and my AMD 756 PCI to USB open host controller.. would that do it. Yes, I have downloaded and installed the lucky star drivers. Might need to upgrade my BIOS though. Thanks

OK. Took out my sound card and got both the TNT2 and Geforce to work.. now the question is, how do I get the sound back? I tried disabling my printer port (i dont print) and my serial ports (not in use either). My SC is a PCI ESS-SOLO-1 Audiodrive w/dos emulation. WHen I tried to put it back in it wouldn;t like my vid card. I probably should figure this out on my own, but this forum is great, 2 replies in six hours and a whole world closer to solving my problem. Thanks!

I have had the same problem with my motherboard and it was corrected by installing the latest motherboard drivers. (Soyo motherboard). Do you know if you installed all of the drivers such as PCI steering? Go into device manager and post back your IRQ list. I would be careful when flashing your BIOS as an incorrect flash can cause your computer not to boot anymore.
