I'm trying to use the Net Use command from a floppy disk and I keep getting the error that says "Error 7750 cannot locate registry" I only get that message when I try and run the net use command from the floppy drive. When I run it from the windows directory, it works fine. Can you tell me what other files besides the Net executable I need to copy to the floppy disk to get it to work right? Thanks - Eric Price

I too need an answer to the very same question you have asked. I have found out through the Microsoft site that the net.exe file contains tow redirectors (VREDIR for Microsoft client, and NWRDIR for the Netware Client). Windows determines which rediretor to load by checking the Preferredredir key in the registry. If this key is not set, VREDIR is loaded by default. When you copy the net.exe command to disk and execute that command from the disk, I think it looks to the disk for the registry key. Your registry is made up of two files, user.dat and system.dat. I would imagine that at least the system.dat file would have to be copied to your floppy but unfortunately the file is to large. User.dat will fit on a floppy but this did not work for me. If you have any further comments or ideas on this matter, I would very much like to hear them.
