When I go to this site for all updates.
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/catalog/en/default.asp

I add the criticl updates I want to download into the basket then when I go to the basket I am informed that my basket is empty.
What is the secret to download these updates.
I want to save to a CD.

Thanks

I haven't downloaded any Win98 updates in years, but you 'used to' be able to download 'for later install' at:

I doubt you are doing anything wrong (no secret in this). As confirmation I just did this on W98SE using your link and it was fine:

Hit Find updates arrow

Selected OS from drop down (W98 & W98SE)

Hit Search button

Chose a Critical Update

Added an update from the list

Hit Go to Download Basket arrow - update then showed.

Assuming you are doing the above then there must be something wrong about your system, although I'm hard pressed to imagine what.

Are you set to normal Default Security in IE (assuming that's your browser)?

No harm trying ham30's alternative but the above should have worked.

Thanks for the quick response.

DerekW: Seems that I have done everything you have suggested.
I will try later and see if things works out.
Thanks again.

Yes, I would have been surprised if you had got that wrong. Good idea to try later, often websites go down for a while.
