Too often when using Windows Explorer my computer is slow to show directory listings; after renaming a file, copying/moving/deleting files and directories. I believe this problem to is due to MSGSRV32.EXE, Windows message server. More RAM might be a solution, but I think my system is ok. AMD-K6 300MHz 64mb RAM. I know Windows Explorer is not a genuine file manager, rather a namespace program, but I couldn't winfile.exe, because it doesn't support long filenames. My question is: Do other people know of a solution to make MSGSRV32.exe run more reliably and if not, what Windows file manager (Non MS) would you recommend?
