I have Win98 with all the service patches critical updates installed. I want to add a USB 2.0 ports PCI card. It requires Windows 98SE or higher OS.
Is the Win98 OS with all the updates installed compatible with this card?

Win98FE (1st edition) is NOT Win98SE (2nd edition)...regardless of how many updates you have installed. If your version isn't 98SE, your USB card will not work.

Jam is correct.
I had Win98FE and wanted to upload videos from my Sony Digicam. It required Win98SE or higher in order to upload the sound with the video. I thought what could be so different between the two OS's? With Win98FE I got just the video without any sound.
I upgraded to Win98SE and now I get the audio with the video.
