Unfortunately MS says that you can no longer order the Windows Security Update CD.

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/protect/cd/order.mspx

Maybe you can try ebay or Google for it. I know that the disc is copyable (legitimately) so if you know someone with it they can copy it for you.

Good Luck

Go to my website (Homepage link) and look up the section titled "Get updates for your OS from Windows Update to your Local Hard Drive".

This describes exactly what you want to do and tells you how to do it.

The security CD is no longer available via web site ordering BUT it appears that if you call - no problems and still free? I quote Rick Rogers from 98WinUP group:

Call for the update CD, you can't order it online anymore:

Microsoft Order Desk (US only)
1-800-360-7561, Monday through Friday, 5:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. Pacific time.

This CD will get you to Sept 2003 status, it does not cover any updates released since then. It will also require you to use ie 6.00 SP1, DirectX 9.0b, Media player 7 (win98) or 9 (win98se), and MDAC 2.8. Don't bother if you don't want to run ALL of the above, you can not pick and choose what to install. It's an all or nothing situation.
