I tried to install W98 and when it boots for
the first time after hardware setup I get a
CONFIGMG Write Protection Error and a
You Need To Restart Windows message!

My system has as follows:

FIC 503+ MB
AMD K-2 450
96 MB EDO
Phoenix Voodoo Banshee 16MB Video
Maxtor 2.1 GB - C
Maxtor 8.4 GB - D,E,F
Memorex CD-RW 2224 CDROM - G
BTC 40x CDROM - H
ActionTec 56K Ext Modem - Flex
HP 722C Printer
Soundblaster ENSONIQ sound card
Dual Printer Port Addon Card (3 LPT's total)
2 Serial Ports
USB Port Disabled

Any thoughts on whats happening would be very
helpfull.

This system runs just fine with W95 B.

Check out a site called www.deja.com. I was just there and saw something about AMD with FIC motherboards.
